The Natural Resources Defense Council named Missouri and Illinois as part of the "Filthy Fifteen" of worst polluting states. Illinois came in as No. 6 on the list; Missouri as No. 12.

The St. Louis Public School Board voted to close 17 schools over the next two years.

Cardinals team president Bill DeWitt III tells KMOX that the sour economy could push the start of Ballpark Village construction to 2010.

University of Missouri will pay $2 million to the family of former football player Aaron O'Neal. The settlement comes four years after the red-shirt freshman from St. Louis collapsed and died at a team practice in 2005.
