River Des Peres Fishermen Find Dead Body. Question: What Did They Expect To Catch?

For any of you who need one more reason not to fish in the sewage ditch that is River Des Peres.

Yesterday fishermen discovered a dead body floating in the "river" near the South Broadway bridge.

The Post-Dispatch reports that police are still attempting to identify the body, which had been in the water "for some time."

The newspaper leaves unanswered the larger questions: A. Who were these "fishermen." B. Besides dysentery, what did they expect to catch in that shit trough?

Update: On Tuesday police identified the body as belonging to Charles Daniel Stringfellow, 25, of Mount Carmel, Illinois. The police have not released a cause of death.
