The St. Louis based American Mustache Institute is today honoring one of its own: famed newsman Walter Cronkite who passed away Friday at the age of 92.

For 19 years (1962-1981) Cronkite's grace, charm and caterpillar-like lip warmer, earned the trust of millions of Americans watching the CBS Evening News.

"Uncle Walter" is how many referred to him. "Mustachiopithicus" is how his friends at the AMI referred to the great Walter Cronkite.
