The Big Bloody: Former Prisoner Shot to Death After Leaving Halfway House

A former federal prisoner was shot to death this morning in north St. Louis just moments after leaving a halfway house.

The victim, whose identity has yet to be made public, left the Dismas House near the intersection of Kinghshighway and Cote Brilliante around 7:30 a.m. this morning.

He was sitting in a car across the street from the halfway house minutes later when a van pulled alongside his vehicle and several shots were fired.

Police are looking for a suspect armed with an assault rifle.
