The Big Bloody: Drug Deal Goes Bad

Posted By on Tue, Aug 11, 2009 at 11:59 AM

Police say Andrew Thompson, 37, and another man were in the O'Fallon Park Neighborhood of north St. Louis late last night on a mission to buy drugs.

The two were in a parked car near the intersection of West Florissant and Pope avenues just after midnight when two gunmen wearing, "dark, baggy clothes" fired several shots into the vehicle.

Thompson, according to KMOX, was shot in the shoulder and chest and pronounced dead at a hospital. The other person in the car -- described as a 39-year-old male -- is in serious but stable condition.

The gunmen remain at large.

As always, police encourage anyone with information on this crime to contact Crimestoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
