Major Case Squad Investigating Possible Homicide in Richmond Heights

The Richmond Heights Police department yesterday recruited the Major Case Squad to investigate a mysterious home fire.

The fire on the dead-end street of Surrey Hills Drive reportedly killed 81-year-old J.L. Pierson.

This afternoon investigators continued to search the severely burned home.

The two-alarm blaze erupted around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning. Neighbors say Pierson used a wheelchair and rarely left the house.

Police are providing few details at this point. Back at you when more becomes available.
