Press Release of the Day: Men's Roller Derby Team Forming in St. Louis

Posted By on Wed, Dec 9, 2009 at 1:02 PM

Well, this is preferable to the men forming a burlesque group. But give 'em three more years and that might happen.

What's the dude equivalent of the "I'm Betty Page" phenomenon? "I'm Fonzie?" "I'm Garrison Keillor?"

For Immediate Release Dec 08 2009

Men's Roller Derby team forming in St. Louis - The STL GateKeepers

The area's first and only men's flat-track Roller Derby league is forming in St. Louis. The StL GateKeepers are breaking ground in the local sports world. What was once a grassroots hobby, is now an official hard hitting, action packed contact sport. The GateKeepers proudly join a growing list of competitive men's leagues all over the nation.

The StL GateKeepers are seeking athletes and support staff to join them during their inaugural season and seasons ahead. Skaters of any skill level are encouraged to apply. The training process will adhere to the skater's needs to develop as an athlete. The league is committed to the growth and development of the organization and it's members. Referee and Non-Skating positions will also need to be filled and are open to both men and women.

About The StL GateKeepers
The StL GateKeepers are the first organized, player-owned men's flat-track roller derby league in the greater St. Louis area.
