The man behind state senator
Jeff Smith's downfall and suspected of playing a role in a
2008 bombing in Clayton,
Milton "Skip" Ohlsen was transported to federal prison in Mississippi this week.
Ohlsen has been in federal custody in St. Louis County since December 2008 when he was arrested for
multiple weapon charges. (As a convicted felon for drug-trafficking, Ohlsen is not allowed to own firearms.) The past October, Ohlsen was
sentenced to 30 months in prison after pleading guilty to
weapon charges and mortgage fraud.

Ohlsen's new home is now the
Yazoo City Federal Correctional Institution -- a low-security prison about a half-hour drive north of Jackson, Mississippi. He arrived at the facility on Tuesday, January 12.
The
Bureau of Prison's website states Ohlsen's release date as "unknown", though given the sentence and the time he's already spent in custody, Ohlsen should be eligible for parole sometime in the spring of 2011.
