Remember those scenes in old westerns and gangster flicks where an angry badass aims his gun at the feet of a foe, fires a few rounds and yells "Dance!"?

Judging from reports from St. Louis Police about a bloody incident early Sunday morning at Imperial Palace on the 2500 block of North Grand Blvd, a security guard did something along those lines in order to break up a fight.

It all started when a fight broke out at the club -- which only admits customers ages 30 and older -- around 2 a.m...

Reports KMOX:
Police spokeswoman Erica Van Ross says it happened after two Sunday morning at the Imperial Palace on North Grand, "The victims were all outside the nightclub when the suspects began shooting and assaulting them. A security guard drew his weapon and fired several shots at the ground. It's unclear if one of the shots ricocheted up and hit one of the suspects."

Van Ross says a 28-year-old man was shot three times in the leg and is in critical condition. A 44-year-old man was shot once in the leg and is in stable condition.
The cops eventually tracked down two suspects who allegedly initiated the shooting a few blocks away on the 2700 block of Bacon Street. One of them was wounded in the stomach.

The security guard was also reportedly "punched repeatedly in the face and head." They must have edited that part of scene out of the old movies.
