SLU Billiken Named Among Nation's "Weirdest" College Mascots

The Saint Louis University Billiken has been named as one of the nation's dozen weirdest mascots by the Huffington Post.

The new site describes the SLU mascot thusly:
What is the Billiken? An elf-like creature with pointed ears and a slow metabolism. Apparently, Billiken was chosen as the SLU mascot because of its semblance to coach John R. Bender. Lucky fellow.

The website is now asking readers to vote on which mascot should be deemed the weirdest. Amazingly the Webster University "Gorlok" was left off the list. It would have received my vote.
