There were a whole lot of Northern Iowa fans on-hand to watch the Sweet 16 last night. The announced attendance in the stadium was 26,377. At least 85 percent of them were wearing purple and gold.

(Tennessee had a very rowdy section of supporters decked out in burnt orange. Michigan State had the next most fans and Ohio State's crowd looked like they came from a football school that was just happy to have an NBA player.)

Unfortunately for the Panther faithful, the virtual home court advantage wasn't enough to beat a very athletic and physical Spartan squad.

The glass slippers are officially off.
