Deck Collapse Brings South City Party to a Crashing Halt

Ahhh, spring. With warm weather finally here, it's time to get outside, bump some music, barbecue with your friends and wind up in the emergency room when your rickety wooden deck collapses. Wait, what?

Yes, seven people were injured earlier this week when the second-floor balcony of their home on the 2700 block of Accomac Street crumbled under the weight of four people. Three others standing below were injured by the falling debris.

With his windswept locks and unflappable demeanor in the face of a flapping hospital gown, KMOV's Matt Sczesny may have earned himself a nomination for Best Hair on a Local TV Personality (Male) in this year's Best of St. Louis issue.
