Andre Gillespie: St. Louis Homicide No. 53; Shot In the Head Near Calvary Cemetary

Early Saturday night, St. Louis Police received a call about a suspicious person behind a building on the 5300 block of Harney Ave. When they arrived at the scene they found something quite suspicious indeed: a corpse.

The body belonged to 18-year-old Andre Gillespie, a resident of the nearby 5400 block of Arlington Ave. Gilliespie had been shot in the arm and the head. Police say there are no witnesses.

It's unclear whether Gillespie's murder is tied to three other shootings (one fatal) that occurred late Friday night and early Saturday morning a few blocks south in Walnut Park East.
