Police have charged Marlon E. Fluker, Jr., 22, with the first-degree murder of Swansea teen Marquise Griffin, the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

The cops allege that Fluker, Jr. opened fire on a crowd of teens in a drive-by Sunday night around 10:30 outside the residence at 502 N. Fourth Street. Griffin died from a single bullet to the head but was the only fatality.

The charges filed today imply that Fluker's father may have egged on his son prior to the shooting.

Witnesses say that there were five people in the car, one of whom was Fluker Jr.'s father, Marlon E. Fluker Sr., who has been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and mob action in connection with the death of Marquise.

On Monday morning, the Major Case Squad, equipped with armored vehicles, joined the investigation after Griffin was found dead in a yard. They surrounded a nearby house at 7215 W. A St. in Belleville for several hours before bringing several people out for questioning.

Father and son both have previous criminal histories, having been charged with aggravated battery. Fluker Jr.'s record also included assault, home invasion, and resisting arrest. His bond has been set at $2 million, and his father's at $10,000.
