The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office on Friday charged Corey Rodgers, 33, with second-degree homicide following the robbery of two men back in June.

St. Louis police report that Terrence Brown -- a 22-year-old from St. Ann -- and a nineteen-year-old friend met up with Rodgers and an accomplice in the 5600 block of Highland on June 24th. The four were supposed to attend a party together, but that never happened. Instead, police say Rodgers and his accomplice ordered Brown and his friend out of their car at gunpoint and robbed in them an alley. Brown was shot in the back during the theft, and died of his wounds three weeks later on July 16.

Rodgers, of the 6700 block of Schofield, was charged Friday with second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree robbery and three counts of armed-criminal action. Police say he was picked up for another offense last month when police realized he was wanted for Brown's murder. He's being held without bond.
