Take the RFT's Walking Tour of Downtown St. Louis

Posted By on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 3:23 PM

This week's Riverfront Times explores our city's literary history. Check back throughout the week for online-only maps and articles supplementing this week's cover story.

Now that you've read about all the famous writers who lived in St. Louis, get up off your ass and take a walk in their footsteps around downtown, starting from the Arch/Laclede's Landing Metrolink station. We can't promise that everything is still standing or that you'll have as much fun as, say, Theodore Dreiser, but it's still sometimes fun to watch past and present and reality and fiction combine.

Special thanks to Lorin Cuoco and William H. Gass, whose book Literary St. Louis: A Guide was invaluable in putting this map together.
