Demetric Thompson: St. Louis Homicide No. 86; Found in Street Near Central West End

Police patrolling the Central West End last night responded to the sound of gunfire north of Delmar Boulevard around 9:50 p.m. There a person flagged them down pointing the cops to the body lying in the street in the 4700 block of McMillan (below).

Police say Demetric Thompson, a 22-year-old black male who lived in the 2800 block of Vandeventer, died of gunshot wounds to the neck and back. Witnesses reported hearing gunshot fire but could provide no other details.

Court records show that Thompson pleaded guilty to marijuana possession in 2008 and fraudulently attempting to obtain a controlled substance in 2009.

An investigation is ongoing.
