Dancing Transsexual and Belleville Tire-Slasher One and the Same

Posted By on Thu, Oct 28, 2010 at 7:33 AM

Last week anonymous evildoers slashed 33 tires in various parking lots around Belleville. Yesterday Belleville police apprehended a suspect in two of the slashings -- and it was someone very well known to Bellevillians.

David L. Stone, who also goes by Susan L. Stone, has become a regular presence at local festivals where she dons a pink tutu and a series of feather boas and performs as "The Dance of Life Dancer."

It's unclear what made Stone, whose mission, according to her YouTube channel, is "to share the beauty of life with everyone", decide to turn to a life of crime. The tire-slashings with which she is charged occurred on Sunday at the Green Mount Commons shopping center, one in front of WalMart, the other in front of Lowe's.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports that Stone, who lives in Lenzburg, has multiple convictions in St. Clair County for retail theft, a couple for telephone harassment, and one for disorderly conduct. She is being held in the Belleville jail in lieu of $125,000 bail.

Belleville police are still investigating the remaining 31 slashings and are encouraging those who parked a car anywhere along Carlyle Avenue on Sunday to check their tires.
