The temporary restraining order issued last week allowing the East St. Louis Flyers to compete in high-school football playoffs was just that -- temporary.

Yesterday a judge in St. Clair County refused to grant the school another restraining order in its efforts to delay a ruling last week that found the team guilty of using an ineligible player.

The Illinois High School Association last week called for the Flyers to be stripped of five victories from their undefeated season after discovering that junior Charles Tigue (the nephew of head coach Darren Sunkett) lived outside the district. Without those wins, the Flyers would not reach the playoffs.

Last week's restraining order allowed the Flyers to enter the playoffs. The team destroyed Belleville West on Saturday 41-10. Now with the Flyers banned from the playoffs, Belleville West will advance despite their first-round loss.
