Harrah's Celebrates Smoke-Free Section -- By Creating Fake Clouds?

Posted By on Tue, Nov 9, 2010 at 12:22 PM

As of tomorrow, the Harrah's Casino in Maryland Heights will have the "largest, most easily accessed, full-scale nonsmoking section in Missouri," or so Harrah's tells us. For all you gamblers who are sick of dodging chain-smoking old ladies working the slot machines, this surely counts as a "YAY!"

However.

Harrah's is celebrating this new improvement with one of the weirdest things we've ever heard: They're creating clouds.

Not clouds of smoke, apparently -- but rather four-foot clouds of bubble.

Check out this video for a preview of the bizarre sky display:

The celebratory non-smoking clouds, Harrah's tells us, are filled with helium, and will be capable of rising 20,000 feet in the air -- and traveling up to 30 miles.

Harrah's will be releasing them over the casino tomorrow morning at 10 a.m., with a new cloud release every fifteen seconds until noon. There will be a second series of releases beginning at 4 p.m.

So if you see some weird looking foamy shapes hovering overhead tomorrow, don't be alarmed: It's all about saving your lungs even while emptying your pockets. Because, you know, nothing says "smoke-free slot machine" like a soapy, snowflake-shaped bit of faux-cumulus.
