Corey Brown allegedly tried to kill himself earlier this month. Now we know why.

According to reports, while recuperating in the hospital the 45-year-old Lake Saint Louis resident admitted to sexually abusing two neighborhood girls. And it didn't just happen once.

It stretched over three years, beginning when the victims were ages 8 and 9, and led police to seek a whopping 528 counts of statutory rape and child molestation against Brown.

Yesterday, prosecutors condensed those counts into 10 criminal complaints. Neighbors say the accused seemed like a perfectly nice guy. He remains in custody. The girls he allegedly abused are in counseling.
