St. Louis police are asking for the public's assistance in locating the person responsible for a fatal hit-and-run accident December 30 that killed 48-year-old Cynthia Fairchild.

Fairchild was walking in the southbound lane of S. Jefferson at the intersection of Hickory when she was struck by a dark-colored Chevrolet Suburban. Police believe the SUV was a 2007-2011 model. The vehicle has two tell-tale features that could help find the individual responsible for Fairchild's death:

1. The vehicle likely has damage to its front grill.
2. It features "pillar lights" (right) that are add-on brake lights located above the stock tail lights.

Police encourage anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS. All calls are anonymous. Callers may be eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000.
