Daily RFT received a request -- okay, a plea -- yesterday from University of Missouri undergraduate Erica Coghill asking that we pass on the news that she and three other Mizzou students are finalists in MTV's Oscars Correspondent Contest.

Coghill, a senior in the journalism school's broadcast sequence, could serve as a red-carpet host for MTV-U if she gets enough votes before next Friday. Filming Coghill at the 83rd Academy Awards in Los Angeles would be her broadcast partner at Mizzou, a fellow senior in John Regan.

Coghill and Regan are actually one of two teams from University of Missouri that have been named as finalists for the contest. Homecoming Queen Alex Holley and her broadcast partner Ryan Brown are also in the running.

View Coghill and Regan's video pitch as well as that for Holley and Brown and then cast your votes. And, as they say in Chicago, vote early and vote often.
