Excellent news for those of you on the east side of the river who are feeling sad that you've never had to spend hours on the phone with your insurance company after you've been rear-ended: The Illinois Secretary of State's office is now selling Chicago Cubs license plates!
Isn't the prototype pretty?
These beauties start at $69 for a random-numbered plate. (We'll try not to think about the Great Collapse of 1969.) Proceeds from plate sales will go to the Professional Sports Teams Education Fund, which benefits the Common School Fund and public schools around the state.
Maybe this means that sunshine and grass and baseball and bitter rivalry are all coming back soon?
