Police are investigating the apparent murder of a 71-year-old man discovered dead yesterday inside an auto restoration business at 1395 Hamilton (right) in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood of northwest St. Louis.

Authorities responded to the building around 8:20 p.m. yesterday to check on the victim after his family reported he had not come home. When officers entered the business, they discovered Dave Post, of the 4500 block of Evans, dead on the scene. An initial medical examination indicated that Post died of trauma to the head in the late morning hours of Wednesday, May 18.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information into this heinous crime is encouraged to call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS.
