No one has been charged yet in the August 13 shooting of Max Cassilly, son of City Museum founder Bob Cassilly. But police are continuing their investigation, and have new information and theories.

According to Erica Van Ross, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, "there is much more to this incident than police were initially told by the witness."

Van Ross says that police have determined that the shooters were familiar with the south-city property where Cassilly was shot early Saturday morning, and that the incident may have stemmed from a robbery attempt.

A family member yesterday took issue with a previous police statement saying that Cassilly knew his attackers. The latest from the police seems to support that; we'll have more on this story as it develops.
