St. Louis police report that they got a call around 9:45 p.m. of shots fired and found the 62-year-old victim with multiple bullet wounds to the legs. Pearson is believed to have been homeless. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. An investigation is ongoing.

Last week St. Louis police reported 98 homicides through October 13. In addition to Pearson's killing, there has been one other murder since then in the callous murder of robbery victim Willie Perkins. By October 13th of last year, the city had roughly the same number of homicides at 95.
