Jessica S. King, 25, is the daughter-in-law of British armored car robber Edward John "Fast Eddie" Maher by way of marriage to Maher's son, Lee. Shortly after her marriage, she learned that her new father-in-law was a fugitive wanted for the theft of almost $1.6 million nineteen years ago. It was King who tipped off local police that Ozark resident John Maher was in fact a criminal -- but only after he threatened to kill her.

Now King has retained a lawyer for the purpose of pursuing the $158,000 reward offered by Securicor, the British security company Maher was working for when he simply drove off with a van full of coins and bills.
King's attorney, Brandon Potter, says it was the police who suggested to her that she may be eligible for any reward that was offered for "Fast Eddie's" capture, and recommended she hire a lawyer to help her pursue her case.

Potter is currently trying to determine the conditions under which the reward will be granted. It may require "Fast Eddie's" conviction, or even the return of the full $1.6 million he stole. If so, that reward may never arrive -- Maher requested a court-appointed defense attorney at the time of his arrest because he didn't have the money to pay for one himself. The whereabouts of the loot have yet to be determined.

King is planning to file for a divorce soon.
