Is St. Louis City Converting A Train Trestle to Green Space?

Posted By on Thu, Apr 5, 2012 at 12:23 PM

Mayor Slay Tweeted an intriguing question to his followers this morning.

Are there plans in the works to make something similar to the High Line in our fair city?
The High Line is a public park built atop an abandoned elevated rail line on Manhattan's West Side. It runs nearly fourteen blocks through the city, converting an eyesore into a useful and attractive linear park with much greenery, flowers, viewing stations, benches and a walking path.

This is what High Line looked like before its transformation.

If St. Louis were to do something similar, as Mayor Slay seems to be implying in his Tweet, which trestle would be the logical choice?
