Saturday night the full moon will appear unnaturally large in the sky. It's that time of the year when the moon is at its closest to the earth, and so will appear to be more of a special effect than our familiar neighbor.

Recommended viewing time is 10:30 p.m., but why not make a night of it? Get a few friends, some drinks and a grill and you'll have a cheap and beautiful night out. Here's what last year's supermoon looked like over Boston.

It looks fake, but that's all moon, baby.
