Megan Boken: St. Louis Homicide No. 80; Former SLU Volleyball Player Killed in CWE

Megan Boken, 23, a native of the Chicago area, was shot to death on Saturday afternoon near the intersection of Maryland and Taylor avenues. Witnesses told police that Boken was in her car at 2:20 p.m. when a man either exited the vehicle or opened the door and fired two shots, hitting her in the neck and chest. She was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead. Witnesses told investigators Boken and her killer were arguing and shouting prior to the shooting.

The shooter is described as a black man in his mid-20s, 5'8'' with a thin build and short hair. Anyone with information about the murder is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-8477.

Boken graduated from Saint Louis University in 2011. She had played for the school's volleyball team, and had returned to town for the alumni game.
