Masked Assailants Kill Hispanic Male in South St. Louis; 90th Homicide of 2012

St. Louis homicide detectives have yet to release the identification of a man shot Monday night in the 3400 block of Pennsylvania (above) near Cherokee Street.

According to police, witnesses observed the victim wrestling with two black males near the front door of a residence when they heard a single gunshot around 9:30 p.m. The suspects, wearing masks, fled the scene. The victim -- described only as a Hispanic male in his mid-30s -- was pronounced dead at an area hospital several hours later at 2:45 a.m. October 9.
