Police believe that a 21-year-old woman shot and killed Kelvin Houston, also 21, in North City over the weekend -- but she hasn't been charged.

That's because witnesses weren't cooperating, police say, which means they didn't have enough information to charge her after her arrest and she isn't being named at this time. Metro police confirm to Daily RFT that she has in fact been released and there haven't been any other arrests in the Saturday night shooting.

The incident occurred during an especially violent weekend with a fatal stabbing and another shooting both at Laclede's Landing -- as well as shootings in at least three other locations within city limits.

This North City shooting took place at around 10:30 p.m on the 8700 block of Riverview Boulevard, police say, and officers first responded to a St. Louis County hospital where the victim had arrived.

Houston, a 21-year-old St. Charles resident had suffered two gunshot wounds to the back and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Officers also responded to the crime scene where the female suspect was taken into custody -- and a weapon was recovered.
