St. Louis police say that an unknown man in a dark skull cap shot at a woman sitting in her car last night and then stole her vehicle.

The shooting and robbery happened at the corner of Howard Street and North 20th Street in the St. Louis Place neighborhood.

The victim, 24, was sitting in her car when the man, wearing a black and red shirt, approached her and opened her driver's side door, police say. Then, he reportedly showed his firearm to her -- and began shooting.

Police say she was shot in the foot and leg -- at which point the man pulled her out of the car.

He drove away, east on Howard Street.
