After pleading guilty to five felony child-pornography charges, Gary A. Dotson of Pacific has been sentenced to 24 years in prison.

An FBI and Franklin County Sheriff's Department investigation revealed Dotson, 32, traded sexual images of children online on an "almost daily basis," according to the U.S. attorney's office.

Dotson produced child pornography and also asked others to design "custom" or individualized videos, such as an image of a child engaged in a sex act while holding a sign with a message specifically for him.

Dotson made child porn involving one victim and tried to make child porn with another victim -- both under the age of twelve -- between 2010 and 2012, the investigation revealed. Dotson pleaded guilty to five federal charges: production of child pornography, attempted production of child pornography, notice and advertisement for child pornography, receipt of child pornography, and transportation of child pornography.

U.S. District Judge John Ross sentenced Dotson to 24 years in jail Monday.
