When he's not studying art and fashion design, Cody Floyd transforms into Duchess, a social-butterfly drag queen with a glam look and killer dance moves.

Even when he's being his more masculine self, elements of Duchess shine through in his glitter nail polish and eye for beauty.

"Duchess and I both reach into that realm of androgyny," Floyd tells Riverfront Times videographer Nicola Muscroft. "Most of the time, Duchess is a little bit more feminine, obviously. Cody is a little more masculine, not too much."

In Daily RFT's second installment of our alter-ego video series, Muscroft filmed Floyd/Duchess as he studied for his bachelor's degree and as she performed for her fans. Muscroft says that when he becomes Duchess, his personality changes.

"Whenever I'm dressed just in my regular daywear, I tend to only stick around people I know or people that I know I can hold conversations with," Floyd says. "With Duchess I feel like whenever I'm in that zone, I'm able to talk to more people and be a little bit more responsive and strike up conversations with more strangers."
