UPDATE: This position has been filled.

The Riverfront Times has an immediate opening for a part-time web editor who will be the paper's voice on social media. This position combines social-media and photo-editing skills to increase the audience for the RFT.

The web editor manages the paper's social-media accounts, including Facebook and Twitter, with the expectation of continued engagement and growth. The job requires strong news judgment, ability to write grammatically correct sentences, and a skilled hand when it comes to story placement and presentation. The web editor must also be able to write compelling headlines that get shared on social media and attract eyeballs.

The web editor also assigns and edits photo slideshows, manages a weekly budget and works with the RFT's editor-in-chief on the execution of online coverage. Photo editing skills are preferred but not required -- attracting talented people and partnering with them is. A strong interest in and working knowledge of stories covered by the RFT is essential.

The position is 10 hours a week with a few of those hours occurring on the weekend.

Minimum requirements: One year of experience working for the online arm of a news outlet.

Please send an email (subject line "web editor") to chad.garrison@riverfronttimes.com and include the following:

- Brief email cover letter - Attached resume - Links to any social media profiles - Any links to relevant content (writing samples, social media campaigns, slideshows, videos, etc.)
