A nineteen-year-old gunman has been arrested in a shocking dinner-time armed robbery in downtown St. Louis, authorities say.

Travion Brown of Wellston was charged with felonies of first-degree assault, attempted robbery and two counts of armed criminal action.

Police say Brown, who was allegedly with two other men, attacked the driver of a Mercedes SUV on 7:20 p.m. on November 22 at a red light near Olive Street and North Eleventh Street. The 29-year-old driver tried to wave away his assailant but was shot in the forehead when the light turned green.

The driver fled east on Olive before crashing into another car and careening into a flower planter at Ninth and Olive. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Brown was jailed on Wednesday in lieu of a $150,000 cash bond.
