An Ohio sex trafficker who set up shop in a St. Charles hotel has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Kyle "Dad" Parks, 54, had tried to wriggle out of the charges by claiming incriminating recordings of him discussing his twisted business were just "locker room talk." (Sound familiar?) Federal jurors nevertheless found him guilty in January.

He was convicted of one count of sex trafficking of a minor, two counts of attempted sex trafficking of a minor and six counts of interstate transportation with intent to commit prostitution.

Parks was busted in December 2015 after driving a carload of young women and four girls, including a fifteen-year-old runaway from Columbus, across state lines to St. Charles. He checked his victims into a Red Roof Inn near Zumbehl Road and Interstate 70 and told them to start soliciting johns on

The scheme fell apart when police in Columbus, Ohio, traced the runaway's phone and tipped off St. Charles police. Officers found most of the victims at the hotel. Parks had left with a seventeen-year-old, but police arrested him a short time later when he arrived at the police station, apparently planning to bail out the women and girls.

Police found the seventeen-year-old outside in the van. She was conscious but incoherent, authorities say.

Parks was convicted after a four-day trial in January. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Howard Marcus. Defense attorney Joseph Hogan represented Parks.
