  • A flat tire did not stop a carjacker in north St. Louis, police say.

An armed carjacker snatched a 2007 Nissan Altima with a flat tire from the owner while she waited for AAA, police say.

The 19-year-old victim told investigators she noticed problems with the tire while she was driving on Sunday night. She pulled over to wait for help in the 1o000 block of Lookaway Driver, a cul-de-sac off of Riverview Drive, near North Riverfront Park in north St. Louis.

Shortly after 9 p.m., the gunman, dressed in dark clothing, arrived and ordered the woman and her passengers out of the Nissan, police say. He then drove off in the quarter-lame sedan.

The woman could give police only a vague description of the carjacker. The case is under investigation.
