(+44)

8 p.m. Sunday, December 3. Mississippi Nights (914 North First Street).

With the members of Blink-182 all trying to pick up the pieces after the band's demise, bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker decided to join forces with two guitarists and form (+44), a group that pushes its musical limits by bleeding together the corners of punk, industrial, new wave and rock. Who knows if songs like "Lycanthrope" and "When Your Heart Stops Beating" (off the band's much-anticipated debut album, When Your Heart Stops Beating) would've ended up on the next Blink album? However, with the catchiest melodies this side of Enema of the State — and Hoppus' most personal lyrics to date — we're betting it won't be long before fans start wondering, "Tom DeLonge who?"
