Cedar Lake Cellars, a year-round winery and event center, will host a free movie night featuring How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the movie begins at 7 p.m. “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is a 2000 comedy film directed by Ron Howard based on Dr. Seuss’s 1957 children’s book. The movie is about the people in Whoville who enjoy celebrating Christmas while the Grinch, played by Jim Carrey, actively hates the holiday. The film also stars Jeffrey Tambor and Christine Baranski and is narrated by Anthony Hopkins. Free to those 21 years of age and older

Cedar Lake Cellars, a year-round winery and event venue, will host open mic nights for new bands which have not previously played at the venue. Audition times are limited and must be reserved in advance. Open mic night auditions will be held Saturdays, Jan. 5, Jan. 12 and Jan. 19 from 1 to 4 p.m., 6 to 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 to 10 p.m. To sign up and perform, bands must register at http://cedarlakecellars.com/open-mic-night-inquiry/.
