Leverage will present an evening of immersive dance theater allowing the audience a unique experience as they follow the performers through the mazes, hallways, and stairwells of the newly renovated Intersect Arts Center. The show is inspired by the Halloween season, and is the second installment of the company’s sold-out, unOrdinary. Audiences should be prepared to move about in relative darkness, as they travel throughout the building and climb up and down two flights of stairs. Limited seating during this performance. This performance is rated PG and may not be suitable for sensory sensitive patrons. $15-$25

Roots and Rhythm: A Tribute to Jazz

Founder and Artistic Director Ashley L. Tate brings her company of trained classical, contemporary and commercial dancers to The Grandel for a weekend of performance art. Roots and Rhythm is the opening main stage concert for Ashleyliane Dance Company’s 12th season. This show highlights the inventive and exuberant art form that is jazz dance. The pieces explore the swing era, the essence of theatrical jazz, a fusion of vernacular and contemporary dance, and a dash of jazz funk and other percussive “new style” hybrid dance forms. $25

CKDC's Fall Concert, Stasis was conceptualized to celebrate a state of rest and normalcy in the company following a period of change. Since preparing for the concert, CKDC has been faced with even more changes than they could have imagined. Stasis looks at new adaptations on the concept including ways to reach Stasis in periods of turmoil. Works for Stasis will involve the use of multimedia including installations, graphics, film and other interactive elements. Featuring premiere work by Founder, Artistic and Executive Director, Arica Brown, alongside Resident Choreographers, and some special guest choreographers. $25

The beautiful and tragic story of Verona’s star-crossed lovers has inspired theatrical and musical productions for 400 years. Saint Louis Ballet presents Shakepeare’s most enduring story as a full-length ballet, with original choreography by Artistic Director Gen Horiuchi and set to a stunning score by Sergei Prokofiev. The production is known for its vivid characterizations, dramatic swordfights and a romantic pas de deux best known as the “Balcony Scene”. $35-$69

Lemp Legends: A Ghost Story Presented by PNC Arts Alive Come witness the infamous tale of the St. Louis family and brewery in the 1900's, and learn the history behind the notorious haunted house tours. A special partnership with The Muny in Forest Park brings these characters to life on the stage with authentic costumes to complement the talented dancers of The Big Muddy. Flash-back vignettes of each Lemp family member take you on a ride back 100 years to give you insight into their lives and personalities. $35

The Nutcracker fills the mainstage at the Touhill with spectacular sets, costumes and a sizeable cast, helmed by the professional company of Saint Louis Ballet. The ensemble swells with special guest performers and the talented students of the Saint Louis Ballet School in children’s roles. The highly entertaining favorite is performed to the traditional Tchaikovsky score. This season, Saint Louis Ballet offers 13 productions, including weekend, weekday and weeknight performances. For the very first time, Saint Louis presents one of George Balanchine’s iconic ballets - Rubies. The ruby red costumes and romantic nature of the ballet are well suited to Valentine’s weekend. Performed by major companies throughout the world, Rubies is set to music by Igor Stravinsky and is the “jazziest”, most accessible, and most often performed of Balanchine’s “jewel” ballets. Also featured are two signature works of Chicago’s acclaimed Joffrey Ballet - Reflections and Light Rain by Gerald Arpino. An original work by Gen Horiuchi will complete the program. $34-$59
