Winter Opera Saint Louis, a non-profit professional opera company providing St. Louis with world-class operatic performances, announces its 2018 Fall Gala. The annual Fall Gala, sponsored by Lu Barnes and Nancy Pillsbury, takes place on September 28th at the Old Warson Country Club and features performances by Gina Galati, Gregory Schmidt, Benedetta Orsi, Karen Kanakis, Nicholas Ward, Keith Boyer, and Gail Hintz. Cocktails begin at 6:00pm - Dinner served at 7:00pm. $150 ticket price includes cocktails, dinner, wine, and entertainment. Urban Chestnut Brewing Company’s (UCBC) annual Oktoberfest St. Louis returns for its eighth year at its Midtown Brewery & Biergarten. The three-day festival begins Friday, Sept. 28, and runs through Sunday, Sept. 30. The theme for this year’s celebration is From Biergarten to Big Top. The free-to-attend festival will feature a full lineup of rock, blues, polka and oompah-thumping music on two stages as well as performances throughout the festival by members of Circus Flora.

The Missouri Wine Wobble will hold its first Wine & Whiskey run. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. for those 21 years of age and older. Participants can chose to run in the 1k, 5k or both races combined. The 5k starts at 3 p.m., and the 1k at 4:45 p.m. An after-race party with music provided by one of the area’s top DJs will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. The race is timed for those in the 5k run. Prizes will be awarded to the top three fastest runners, as well as for best race costumes. Tickets range from $35 to $70 for the 1k and 5k, and $50 to $85 for both races.
