Fontbonne University Fine Arts Department Faculty and Staff will be presenting their work at the Fontbonne University Gallery of Fine Arts from August 31st – September 28th 2018. A free opening reception with light refreshments will be held on AUGUST 31ST at 6.00-8.00p. This free series will feature full-time faculty members Anthony Borchardt, Mark Douglas, Timothy Liddy, David Newton and Victor Wang as well as adjunct and staff artists. The John Burroughs School fine arts faculty, all of whom are practicing artists, will exhibit their work in a mixed media show in the Bonsack Gallery. The opening reception is from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Friday, August 24 in the gallery. The exhibit features work from Donya Allison (drawings and photographs), Ashley Oates (photograms), Mike Gesiakowski (sculpture), Jessica Hunt (sculpture), and Andrew Newman (photographs). Free

Put on your walking shoes for a tour of artworks installed throughout the Danforth Campus as part of the Art on Campus program, led by Leslie Markle, curator for public art. The tour will begin at Bauer Hall and will include stops at the Sumers Recreation Center, the South 40, and Hillman and Umrath Halls to see works by acclaimed contemporary artists Jaume Plensa, Katharina Grosse, Tom Friedman, Ann Hamilton, Spencer Finch, and Ayse Erkmen. American conceptual artist Susan Scafati’s solo show "If a 🌳 falls…" explores existence and perception in the age of smartphones, inviting us to think about how representation of one’s self and one’s world is expressed within our visual, virtual culture today. The exhibit includes pigment prints, acrylic sculptures and Tablet-sized silver gelatin prints. The Bonsack Gallery is a not-for-profit educational gallery on the campus of John Burroughs School. The opening reception is Thursday, October 11 from 5:30-7:30 pm; regular gallery hours are 8 am to 5 pm, weekdays. Free
