The Gateway Korea Foundation will host its 5th annual Chuseok Korean Harvest Festival, marking the start of fall with a free arts and culture festival on September 22nd from 12-4:30pm at McGrath Elementary School. Fun for all ages! Visitors can learn the Korean alphabet and calligraphy. Enjoy traditional games, crafts, try on Korean costumes and listen to kpop music. Sample delicious Korean food like Bibimbap, Bulgogi, and kimchi.  Enjoy modern and traditional dance, drum and martial arts performances by the Chicago Korean Dance Company, Washington University’s Samul-Nori Drum team, Y.S. The Lake St. Louis BeerFest at The Meadows takes place Saturday, September 22nd from 3-7pm. Sponsored by Krey Distributing, the event will have 11 sampling tents of craft and domestic beers from area-wide beer makers. Beer sampling is free. Patrons must be 21+ to sample or purchase beer. Bottled beer will be available for purchase at $5 at a 24-foot long bar. That 80's Band will perform on the Meadows Clocktower stage throughout the event. Cedar Lake Cellars presents the 13th annual Pyromania – one of the only pyrotechnic competitions in the U.S. today. Gates open at 4 p.m., and the fireworks show begins at 7:30 p.m. The nation’s top fireworks choreographers gather at Pyromania to showcase their pyromusicals or “concerts in the sky”, which are artistic combinations of music and pyrotechnics. Known as the largest show in the Midwest, Pyromania proceeds benefit The BackStoppers, Inc. General admission is $10 in advance, $15 the day of the event, and children ages five and under are free. VIP admission is $65 in advance and $80 the day of the event.

Urban Chestnut Brewing Company’s (UCBC) annual Oktoberfest St. Louis returns for its eighth year at its Midtown Brewery & Biergarten. The three-day festival begins Friday, Sept. 28, and runs through Sunday, Sept. 30. The theme for this year’s celebration is From Biergarten to Big Top. The free-to-attend festival will feature a full lineup of rock, blues, polka and oompah-thumping music on two stages as well as performances throughout the festival by members of Circus Flora.
