Historic Saint Louis is hosting a botanical speaker evening on June 4th to complement our garden tour on June 15th. Speakers include Esley Hamilton who will present “A Brief History of Landscape Architecture in St. Louis" from 7pm to 8pm followed by Carol Gravens’ presentation, "Plants That Changed the Course of History," from 8pm to 9pm. The botanical speaker evening is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Free

Great Rivers Greenway is set to kick off its fourth annual Life Outside Festival, a FREE event that encourages residents of St. Louis to spend less time on the couch and more time venturing outdoors. Free activities include outdoor experiences related to active living, camping, climbing, cycling, mind and body, nature and conservation, paddling and running. There is something for all ages, abilities and interests! In addition to the outdoor activities, the festival will feature local bands and food trucks. Free

From deep in the earth to high in the tree canopy, enjoy summer fun at Historic Sappington House! Our formal flower and herbal gardens will be featured as well as tours of our historic home. The lovely green grounds are awaiting families picnicking, maybe after Biking through History on Grant’s Trail, 10am. This will be the closing day of the final student archaeological dig, so see the discovered artifacts. Refreshments served. $5 adults; $1 children under 12. Also safely climb to the heights in park’s trees with Vertical Voyages, $20 per person, climbing reservations required for 11am or 1pm sessions. $5 adults, $1 children under 12

2019 Pond-O-Rama Tour Pond-O-Rama,Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The 2019 tour will have 20 private gardens owned and maintained by Society members. Tickets covering both days of the tour are $15 each and are available early May at retail shops and garden centers throughout the metropolitan area. Everyone on the tour over age 18 requires a separate ticket. The tour ticket booklet gives location addresses, descriptions and driving directions. For more information, call (314) 995-2988. Slither and slide, crawl and climb through our mud pit obstacle course. Get out the old clothes and shoes and come beat the summer heat – the more, the muddier! Kids aged 5 and up, adults, families, groups and camps are all welcome. Concessions and picnic areas are available. Restrooms, outdoor showers and changing tents will be available for use. Admission is $10 per person/$20 with children's t-shirt. Tickets will be sold during the event on Friday and Saturday. Everyone going into the mud pit requires a ticket.
