Winterfest at the Arch

Thursdays-Sundays, 2-9 p.m. Continues through Jan. 1, 2018

Last year's Winter Classic outdoor hockey game was a great success, from the weather to the outdoor civic skating rink to the final score (the St. Louis Blues beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1). Unfortunately the city doesn't get another outdoor game again this year, but the skating rink will return. Winterfest at the Arch opens the ice at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 18, at Kiener Plaza (500 Chestnut Street; The opening coincides with the Ameren Festival of Lights, which features live entertainment, the lighting of the Salvation Army Tree of Lights and a fireworks finale. The rink's regular hours are 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday through January 1, and admission is free if you have your own skates (must be approved at the gate). If you are skateless, you can rent a pair ($7 to $12 per hour). free admission, $7-$12 for skate rental

Olivette’s 4th Annual 5K Turkey Trot is a chip timed event!This family friendly 5k run/walk course starts and ends at Stacy Park, down scenic Old Bonhomme Road and then through a paved tree lined path. Missouri Wine Wobble's First Annual Race

A full-bodied experience – complete with delicious wine, vineyard running, and a mega after-party – is heading to Missouri for the very first time. The Missouri Wine Wobble will hold its first annual wine run. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. for those 21 years of age and older. Participants can chose to run in the 1K, 5K or both races combined. The 5k starts at 3 p.m., and the 1k at 4:45 p.m. An after-race party with music provided by one of the the area's top DJS will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets range from $35 to $70 for the 1k and 5k, and $50 to $85 for both races.
