The Other Mozart

Wed., Nov. 28, 7:30-9:30 p.m.
phone 618-650-2626

The Other Mozart is the true, forgotten story of Maria Anna Mozart, the sister of Amadeus - a prodigy, virtuoso and composer - who performed throughout Europe with her brother, to equal acclaim, but her work and her story faded away, lost to history. The play is based on facts, stories and lines pulled directly from the Mozart family's humorous and heartbreaking letters. The Other Mozart had a critically acclaimed Off-Broadway run at HERE Arts in NYC and in London at St. James Theatre. The play continues touring theatres and universities across the US. 35.00

A divine comedy! Delivering a new and improved set of Commandments, God’s introduction of the revised laws is refreshingly positive, insisting on the separation of church and state and encouraging us to believe in ourselves, not some elderly white guy in the sky. The play is sinfully funny delivering new meaning to the phrase divine intervention and where God and his devoted angels answer some of the deepest questions that have plagued mankind since Creation. He’s finally arrived to set the record straight…and He’s not holding back! In God we trust. The NY Times calls it “…a gut-busting-funny riff on 42-45

Government employees Bob and Norma are given the job of rooting out “sexual deviants” in the U.S. State Department during the Cold War. The only problem? Both are in sham marriages to hide their own homosexuality. Told in the style of a classic TV sitcom and set during the Lavender Scare that actually took place in the 1950's, Topher Payne’s play asks how far you would go to protect yourself if it meant sacrificing others. $25 GA | $20 Student & Older Adult
