Winter Opera Saint Louis, a non-profit professional opera company providing St. Louis with world-class operatic performances, announces its 2018 Fall Gala. The annual Fall Gala, sponsored by Lu Barnes and Nancy Pillsbury, takes place on September 28th at the Old Warson Country Club and features performances by Gina Galati, Gregory Schmidt, Benedetta Orsi, Karen Kanakis, Nicholas Ward, Keith Boyer, and Gail Hintz. Cocktails begin at 6:00pm - Dinner served at 7:00pm. $150 ticket price includes cocktails, dinner, wine, and entertainment. Silent and Live Auctions will be available. $75 of ticket price is tax-deductible. $150

Get the chance to rappel 17 stories down the side of Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch at the 10th Annual “Over the Edge St. Louis” fundraiser. The event will raise money to benefit Special Olympics Missouri’s year-round program of sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Last year’s event raised more than $81,700 for the organization. “Over the Edge St. Louis” is hosted by Law Enforcement Torch Run agencies: St. Louis Country, St. Louis City and Webster Groves Police Departments. Proceeds from the event benefit the 15,494 children and adults with intellectual disabilities that Participants must raise a minimum fundraising goal of $1,000 to rappel.

Proceeds from the events benefit the Lung Cancer Research Foundation and its mission to improve lung cancer outcomes by funding research for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of lung cancer. The 24th Annual Open House Wings & Wheels Fly In and Car Show will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29 at St. Louis Regional Airport on Hwy. 111 in East Alton, featuring hundreds of planes and cars. The Fly In traditionally hosts an assortment of modern Cessna, Piper and Beach aircraft, a number of ultra lights, several helicopters, and occasionally even historic planes and specialty aircraft like a glider or a hovercraft.
